SYNOPSIS: The Cold War between America and the former USSR has long since ended, and with it so did the race to see what country can build the fastest fighter plane or the deadliest missile.  For Ukraine's youngest citizens, stories about the Cold War can be heard from their parents and grandparents and read in school history books.  For Ukrainian boys to really understand just how powerful the Soviet Air Force once was, they must go to a museum.  The Aircraft and Technical Museum in Lugansk, Ukraine, is the setting for Matter of History: A Boy's Video Essay - your personal tour of wartime relics and military hardware.

EDITORIAL REVIEW: Migs, bombers, missiles and attack helicopters.  Get an inside look at some of the Soviet Union's (once) most feared assets in the Red Air Force.  These (once) mighty planes are now sitting in a "graveyard", of sorts, at the Aircraft and Technical Museum in Lugansk, Ukraine.  What were once closely guarded secrets are now nothing more than a keepsake, collecting rust, and even auctioned off to the highest bidder.  Yes, some of these war planes can be bought (yikes)!  Off the side in a non-descript hangar you'll see some restored vintage automobiles, and some jet engines using technology which at the time, not even the US military could copy (many a spy died trying to get the specifications).  Alexandr, Sergey, Vladislav and Yegor are your video journalists, and they show you some declassified military hardware.  An essay, you can say, made just for you!  We got a private tour with the museum's curator and were allowed to get a closer look - behind the barricades. 

Sauna's exist namely for relaxation, but after the museum tour, newcomer Sergey joins up with Igor and Dmitriy (from The Pioneers) for some rambunctious behavior...in the sauna.  Once again sugary treats is the culprit behind the play fighting and untamed theatrics!  And the boys try to tell a few jokes, which in English don't really translate well.  Although we've subtitled the entire film, these jokes aren't really funny when translated.  Perhaps enjoy an alcoholic beverage, and you may find them funny!

Holly cow, once again we've jam packed this DVD!  It is bursting at the seams with a feature that's 109 minutes long (that's 1hr49min of you're calculating), making this one of the longest Azov Films naturist release we have!  We've also added a slide show with 59 high-resolution photos (you can pop this DVD in your computer and download the photos to keep).  And of course, we've also added a selection of previews and trailers to other Azov Films.  Get educated for a while, then spend well over 1 hour in the sauna with these boys and play witness to what chips and chocolate can do to a growing boy.  Fans of Anton and The Pioneers DVDs will certainly enjoy this one - perhaps even more!  And, as usual, we have subtitled, in English, the entire 109 minute film!  Oh, and the boys did most of the camera work around the museum...so be nice if it's not up to par - they tried hard, and most importantly - they had fun and learned a few things about their proud history!
