SYNOPSIS: The local community center will never be the same after a visit from six of Azov Films' boys!  Thankfully, this late morning tour sees only a few locals being disturbed from their daily exercise routine as our crew takes over the pool and the weight room.  After the boys build their growing muscles with the dumbbells and work up a sweat with some rigorous cardio, they end the day with some more swimming and roughhousing at the local banya! 

EDITORIAL REVIEW: We decided to do something a little new this time around, in our continuing effort to explore new ideas!  The Azov Gym brings us to a small community center in the outskirts of Lugansk where, first, the boys do a little swimming and deck surfing.  Shortly after that, as the pool begins to fill with those who don't appreciate the roughhousing of some sugared-up adolescents, the group get changed and check out the weight room.  Some dumbbells, leg-presses, and punching bag kicking sees these boys burn off a little testosterone and chocolate-fueled energy.  Later, we part ways with one boy and meet another when they go to the banya for some post-workout fun.

In our longest Azov Films film to date, we introduce two new Azov Films members!  We first meet Jaroslav (or Slava for short) at the gym and indoor pool (who looks a little like Azov Films star Vladik and who may just be the "next" Vladik ;-) subscribers check your weekly email for sneak peek and give us your opinions), who unfortunately does not stay around for the second part of our film.  However, there we introduce you to Artem!

This is the first time I've actually read the reviews of any DVDs, and I'm responding mainly because I'm bothered by some of the petty complaints some reviewers make with regards to camera work and the interview portion. I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion, and voicing their opinion might help make the further production of these DVDs better, but give me a break! Considering the content of these DVDs and the low price they cost, no one should be complaining about anything. I've been collecting naturist DVDs/videos for several years, and Azov Film productions are BY FAR the best quality for the best price on the market. If you expect perfection from something like this, you're expecting way too much. Be grateful for what you have. Now I'll get off my soapbox and get to the actual review. My favorite Baikal Films release was "Fast Feet," mainly because it featured an extended indoor swimming scene. I love the fact that boys in the Ukraine wear speedos, unlike the boys here in the States. So if you like speedos as much as I do, "The Azov Gym" is definitely a great pick. I hope to see future productions utilize the indoor swimming theme. My only suggesting is that you spend more time in the locker-room before and after the swim. I also love the addition of two new boys to the Azov Films roster, Jaroslav and Artem. Yes, Jaroslav does look a lot like Vladik! But I don't think there will ever be a "next" Vladik (unless you have plans for Jaroslav to star in 20+ Azov Film productions!) I hope to see more of both boys in the future.

While this may not be the best video we’ve ever seen from Azov, and the camera work was at times less than perfect, it nonetheless ranks as a very good production due in large part to its wonderful ensemble cast of beautiful and charming boys. Sergey and Anton are always nice to see, and newcomer Artem is a welcome addition. Solid performances from Zhenya and Alexey as well. I particularly liked the push-ups and squat exercises. The boys looked rather crowded on the couch during the interview, but I loved how Artem was perched on the arm-rest, although he seemed somewhat (needlessly) shy.

Yes , there is some small flaws in this one. I think the interview in this one should of been in the bonus features
However with 2 of my fav's Anton and Sergey , and a couple of newcomers, this film offers a lot. The swim scenes at the first of the film were very enjoyable to watch. One thing about the sauna trip: are we going to have to take up a collection for more snacks for the boys?? 3 bags of chips and one orange drink for 5 growing boys? They look almost famished!LOL

While I agree that the couch scenes are a bit on the boring side, they had their moments which make the dvd entirely worthwhile. It's great to see Anton again after not seeing him for over half a year. And, yes, he still fidgets a lot. All of the boys included were great. While the camera work was a bit questionable, I appreciated getting the occasional different angle. However, I believe better results would have been better coming from a second camera mounted on a tripod. Having five boys in one dvd was great. I hope the inclusion of more boys is done more often. However, cramming five boys on a couch for interviews doesn't work out very well. Interviews with somewhat smaller groups tend to work better.

EDITORIAL: We generally do not respond to customer reviews, but this film seems to have started something. We tend to show the naturist content of these films virtually unedited. Very little is cut out and what you see is 99% of what we received. That is the reason for the sometimes quick pans you may see from time to time in the naturist portions. We do these films as documentaries - a day in the life of a young Ukrainian naturist. We’re not trying to win awards, but rather give you a “fly on the wall” feel – complete with English translation of meaningless conversation! The point is to educate the viewer about a beautiful part of the world, its people, and a culture virtually non-existent in the West.

I can agree with Curlew to some degree regarding the pictures provided. Back on track, I am happy to see the boys Alexey, Sergey, Zhenya, and very cute Anton return. Zhenya seems to be shy of the water, still can't swim? Some of the gym footage looked more like b-role to fill time than actual boys day out adventures. The sauna scene is getting a bit old and the camera has taken to fits of movement and selective angles and shots that are frustrating and anoying. I think he should watch Igor and see how it is done.
Because this video contains most of the boys I've come to love, and the introduction of Artem who relaxed by the end of it, I rank this 8 (camera work about a 5).
I was surprised to see the boys taking direction as in the Commando series but I guess it is the same producers. It just didn't seem as free spirited as earlier videos.
The camera quality has gone bad in my view. I have a degree in video production and a few years work in movies and gameshows, I can show them how its done. Yeah, yeah, I know, sorry.
If you like who's in this video, buy it for sure. If you are selective, pass this one by.

First let me say that the length of a production does not necessarily equate with quality. As the previous reviewer stated the initial pool and gym scenes were good, but the lengthy sit down on the couches could have easily been eliminated entirely. The later calisthenics bordered on the silly as well. Going from the sauna to the pool scenes are getting rather repetitive, also. In addition, it is not necessary for the boys to be sans clothing so often either. It's nice to see them dressed in their outfits before they don their heavy jackets. Some of the better photos of the boys in the slide show are when they are fully clothed unencumbered by their jackets. There is a close up of Anton's face that is truly precious. It might also be interesting to see photos of their homes and school. Perhaps their parents, also. All these things would help us to get to know them better than having them asked the same repetitive questions in the interview sessions. In this production I especially enjoyed two of my favorites (Sergey & Anton) in addition to the two newcomers Artem and Jaroslav. It would have been nice to have had Jaroslav for the entire production.

There are six boys featured in this DVD, although only five are featured in the spa. We get to meet two new guys, 11 year old Artem in the spa, and Jaroslav at the gym. I generally prefer the DVDs that used to feature mid-teens, but the boys here are quite interesting. They have a blast at the pool, and after the workout create more havoc at the spa. I also like all aspects of these DVDs, when they are rough housing or chilling out. It shows all the sides of the boys, just like they are in real life. This is an excellent DVD, with a good cast. Recommended for your collection.

I very much enjoyed this film. It is a great combination of boys. I was disappointed that Jaroslav didn't make it to the sauna and would love to see more of him in the future. The same goes for newcomer Artem, I think he should be a keeper to a already strong core of stars in Anton, Sergey, Dmitri and others. I agree with Curlew, a change to the naturist settings would be welcome. I think one of the great things about the Vladik series was the change in scenery we would get from time to time.

I have certainly enjoyed watching the DVD. This is a good buy in terms of running time, and these good-looking boys are clearly happy to be making the film. The opening sequences in the gym and pools are bright and interesting, but the pace slackens later on. There are lengthy periods when the boys are just sitting around very modestly, and these lack visual interest.
The slideshow could have been a great success, because some of the pictures are absolutely delightful, but in terms of pixels per inch, the free download pictures are three times better than those we are buying on the disc, which is very puzzling. What we need is either more pictures in the free downloads or stills of better quality on the DVD.
The prominent captions are something of a problem, too.
I may not be alone in thinking that ideally, naturist films should be shot outdoors, and perhaps in the summer, the film crew might take a similar group of boys to explore a coastal, riverside or woodland location. This would provide a welcome change from baths and saunas, and might well produce some photography on a par with that of the Vladic era. Worth considering?
