SYNOPSIS: Cossacks are a huge part of Ukrainian history and culture.  Thousands of museums, dedicated to Cossacks, can be found around this vast country.  Uniforms, medals, and weapons of war are carefully archived and displayed for young and old to explore and learn from. Azov Films' Artem, Anton, Alexey, Sergey and Jaroslav spend an afternoon in a Cossack museum learning about a proud heritage rarely taught in Ukrainian schools. 

EDITORIAL REVIEW: Azov Films has covered a few Cossack festivals, but never a Cossack museum.  We turn the tables on A Boy's Video Essay and give the lads a break from being journalists.  This time they are the subject as we educate our boys on some of their ancestors' history, and the fine art of Cossack offensive and defensive weaponry and maneuvers!  Our personal tour guides give the boys a hands-on, close examination of some pikes and sobers (that isn't a typo), following a brief tour of the museum where they learn about the origin of Cossacks and what it meant to their country.  In today's democratic society, Cossacks are more of a prop - dressed in colorful costumes and used for special events and shows.  But hundreds of years ago they weren't singing and dancing, they were fighting for independence freedom.  In Azov Films' third Matter of History, there's no singing, no dancing, and certainly no fighting!  You'll get an interesting look into the history of these boys' ancestors and the country they're proud to call home!

After the museum we head over to a sauna bath where the learning continues, like 1) slippery floors are good for sliding around...until you slide into a wall; 2) turning your back on your opponent during a game of Checkers is not a good idea; 3) sugar gives you energy to leap couches in a single bound; 4) footsies on the couch can make you giggle after you ingest too too much sugar!  We visit a different sauna bath this time.  Here, the water in the bath is ice cold (the way it should be), so the boys bounce between the bath and the steamy hot sauna.  Our usual junk food feast and some nudist games round out the lads' ridiculous antics and another fine Azov Film!

Jaroslav is back in his second Azov Film.  I suppose you can call Matter of History: Cossack Museum Jaroslav's "true" debut because the other one, The Azov Gym, his appearance only lasted 15 minutes or so.  Now, he's everywhere in this one!
