SYNOPSIS: Internationally acclaimed director Louis Malle has taken a taboo subject - child prostitution - and created in Pretty Baby a film of humanity and beauty.  E.J. Bellocq is a photographer in 1917 obsessed with the prostitutes in New Orleans' red-light district.  Violet, a young girl, bewitches Bellocq with her curiosity and naive coquettishness.  Malle's level-headed treatment of this controversial theme and exceptional performances by the entire case make Pretty Baby a must see of all serious film fans.

Presented completely uncut by Paramount Pictures (we're as surprised as you are), making Louis Malle no doubt roll over in his grave, Pretty Baby isn't really a "new release", but we've added it to our roster in an effort to add more American made coming of age films (as you requested)!  Although with Louis Malle as director, it is a must own for us...and you.
