SYNOPSIS: Upon release from jail, Jan becomes the newest charge of a much older parole officer, Elsa.  The young man seeks to provoke her -- to shake her from her routine, and he succeeds by drawing the woman bit by bit into an intoxicating, sadomasochistic affair.  But when reality breaches the ethical vacuum in which their relationship exists, everything in their lives will abruptly change.

EDITORIAL REVIEW:  This often slow-moving black & white feature from Germany stars Kostja Ullmann (from Summer Storm) as Jan Winkler, a 16-year-old delinquent recently paroled from juvie.  In charge of his rehabilitation is Elsa, a parole officer nearly three times his senior.  Sporting a "you know you want me" attitude, Jan begins a slow seduction process; endlessly, and "accidentally" touching and rubbing himself up against this older woman.  As the stalking and unwanted touching continues, tensions rise between the two until Elsa finally confronts Jan, where he says to her, "I know you want to do things to me...well here I am....you can have me."  Jan, so it seems, likes to be spanked (and a whole lot more) and thinks Elsa is just the person he needs to punish him.  Elsa is at first put off and offended by the very idea of doing the nasty with one of her young charges, but soon she begins to ponder the idea.  Torn between doing what is right, and what is oh-so-wrong, Elsa's relationship with her common-law spouse begins to suffer....just as one begins to blossom with Jan.
