Macbeth - Jon Finch, Francesca Annis - DVD | moviebizz.com featuring rare
coming of age films from around the world.
SYNOPSIS: Roman Polanski presents his nightmarish version of
Shakespeare's classic tragedy about the lust for power--and its bloody
consequences.
Macbeth is the Scottish war
hero whose insane ambition unleashes a cycle of violence. Prompted by the
supernatural prophecy of three witches, Macbeth is goaded by his Lady into
slaying King Duncan and assuming his throne. Macbeth plunges further into
murder and moral decay to keep the unsteady crown on his head. While his wife
crumbles away in guilt and madness, the haunted Macbeth fights to prevent
another dark forecast which may doom him.
EDITORIAL REVIEW: This
addition to our library doesn't really fall into the coming of age category, but
thanks to some loyal customers who thought Macbeth would make a great
addition here, we took their advice and added it for everyone to enjoy! We have
to agree with our customers' opinions on this film, and for the most part many
other people seem to have enjoyed this film (over 7 on IMDB's user
ratings). The picture quality is fantastic, don't let the trailer fool you into
thinking it isn't!
