The Mudge Boy - Emile Hirsch, Tom Guiry - DVD | moviebizz.com featuring
rare coming of age films from around the world.
SYNOPSIS: The Mudge Boy chronicles the troubled existence of
Duncan Mudge, a 14-year-old misfit who, while vying for the attention of his
vacant father, struggles to fill the void brought on by his mother's sudden
death.
EDITORIAL REVIEW: Classified
as weird by those Duncan calls friends, he becomes branded a faggot
because of his strange behavior and his fascination with dressing in his dead
mother's clothing. His only real friend is a chicken, aptly named
"Chicken", with whom Duncan spends pretty much all of his time.
Duncan tries hard to fit in with the small group of acquaintances around his
small town, but his quirks and mannerisms only lead to superficial friendships
because these "friends" only make fun of him behind his back.
Duncan really is quite strange, but you can't help
but feel really sorry for this boy who is essentially abandoned by the only
family he has left, picked on by everyone, ridiculed, and eventually raped by
his "friend".
