Juego de niños - Francisco Rey, Rogelio Castillo - DVD |
moviebizz.com featuring rare coming of age films from around the world.
SYNOPSIS: A string of serial killings among the children of
Mexico City is sending shivers through the community. Reminiscent of Man of
Fire - told from the children's perspective - a child is in the greatest
danger while returning home from school. In one public school a young boy
befriends a classmate who holds the key to solving the murders. A critically
acclaimed suspense thriller from one of Mexico's most talked about directors.
EDITORIAL REVIEW:
Lalo (Francisco Rey)
is a friendly boy who doesn't let an urban legend
about Miguel, the loner, freak him out. Miguel (Rogelio
Castillo) lost his parents last summer,
and Lalo's brother was killed very recently. Lalo thinks the two
have a lot in common so he approaches the strange boy at school one day to be
friends. The friendship blossoms quickly, until Miguel shares his
secret.
An eerie and graphic film from
the director who brought you
Sin Destino (Leopoldo Laborde). We don't offer very many horror
films here (and this is DEFINITELY a horror film) because not many directors
make violently graphic films where children are the main actors. Juego de
niños is a suspenseful, but sometimes predictable flick with a gritty
undertone common with many Laborde films. A little creepy at times you
can compare this to The Good Son vs
The Boy
Who Cried Bitch. If you aren't a fan of blood and gore, steer clear.
If you enjoy the weird, spooky and chilling, but a little unpleasant to watch
sometimes, then this is for you (and we won't hold it against you)!
