Look to the Sky - Luke Petterson, Juliet Aubrey - DVD | moviebizz.com
featuring rare coming of age films from around the world.
SYNOPSIS: Based loosely on the book "Childhood" by
physicist Jona Oberski, Look to the Sky depicts a hope-filled view of the
Holocaust from the perspective of a young Dutch boy, Jonah, who spends much of
his childhood behind the bars of a Nazi concentration camp. Only through
strength and perseverance does he emerge from this hell-on-Earth and actually
grow up.
EDITORIAL REVIEW: Look to the Sky was
released in 1993, around the same time as another Holocaust-era picture,
Schindler's List. Although this film doesn't portray concentration
camp living quite as graphically as Schindler's List does, Look to the
Sky certainly draws viewers into the story and gives a pretty good
impression of what it must have been like during one of the darkest periods
humanity has ever known. The music, composed by Academy Award®
winner Ennio Morricone, adds so much emotion to the picture. Add this film
to your library; you won't regret it.
