SYNOPSIS: Over the course of one hot summer, a group of children in the rural South is forced to confront a tangle of difficult choices in a decaying world.  Ambitiously constructed, sensuously photographed mediation on adolescence, the first feature film by director David Gordon Green features breakout performances from an award winning ensemble cast.

EDITORIAL REVIEW:  The Criterion Collection masterpiece George Washington presented, as always and like all Criterion Collection releases, uncut and with outstanding picture quality.  Including in this DVD is the rare and remastered short film A Day with the Boys (uncut) by Director Clu Gulager.  A Day with the Boys was an influential part in the production of George Washington.  There is a ton of other special features included (listed below).  As for the film, an outstanding piece of independent cinema!  Beautifully acted with realistic performances by children who never acted prior to this film.  This is a keeper!
