Chronicle of a Boy Alone - Diego Puente, Tino Pascali - DVD |
moviebizz.com featuring rare coming of age films from around the world.
SYNOPSIS:
Inside a bleak orphanage
run by the fascist Argentinean government is Polin, strong-willed
boy abandoned by his family. Struggling to survive the daily beatings and
emotional abuse brought on by the hands of his rulers, Polin plans an escape to
the outside world. Polin is ready for freedom and yearns to see his family
again, but is his family ready to see him?
EDITORIAL REVIEW: Life
inside this dank orphanage for young Polin (played by Diego Puente) doesn't last very long.
Using some very ingenious tactics, he escapes and goes back to his village in
search of the family that abandoned him. The village is a slum, full of
thieves and criminals, and no better than the life he left back at the State run
orphanage. Will Polin find his family again, or will he always be a
boy alone?
This movie was once banned by
the Argentinean government, not for it's content, but more for the way it
portrays the government.
