American Teen - Hannah Bailey, Colin Clemens - DVD | moviebizz.com
featuring rare coming of age films from around the world.
SYNOPSIS: Popularity is everything; breakups and missed
jump-shots are the end of the world; a college acceptance is a dream come
true; and an email forwarded to the wrong person is your worst nightmare.
Now experience senior year of high school through
the eyes of five real-life Indiana teenagers: the prom Queen, the Heartthrob,
the Jock, the Rebel and the Geek. This revealing year-in-the-life feature
delivers the real heartbreak, hilarity and - OMG - drama of senior year
first-hand from five very different viewpoints. And no matter who you
identify with, everyone will relate to American Teen.
EDITORIAL REVIEW: The
tagline of American Teen is, "Remember high school? It's gotten worse."
This real-life drama focuses on five ordinary "real" American teens, each with
their own quirks, personalities, and "real" problems. And man, do some of
these kids have problems! These aren't adult problems like, "How do I pay
the bills this month." Or, "What will I do if I lose my job." More
like, "I can't believe that bitch sent my nude pic around the school." Or,
"We lost the game because I missed some free throws." And, "How am I going
to do my hair for the prom." No sir, these are little problems adults
wouldn't lose sleep over but the average American teen would actually consider killing
themselves over.
Yes, high school has changed,
and American Teen certainly gives an eye-opening look into high-school today,
where the official synopsis (as written above) really is the way of life for
kids today. This is not a movie, in the true sense of the word, but it has
all the drama and comedic aspects of a movie. Cameras follow these five 16
to 18 year olds during their final year of high school - the entire year.
We see very aspect of their life as it centers around their life at school, at
home, and
how they all intertwine with each other. It's cut together nicely, moves
quickly, keeps your attention, and overall, it's a neat idea when reality shows
are beginning to be real boring. Really!
There's a lot of good features
that you may like:
° Pop Quiz: Cast Interviews.
° A lot of deleted scenes.
° Hanna Blogs (she's one of the profiled kids - the "Rebel")
° Character Trailers.
° Previews of other Paramount Vantage's indie flicks.
